The Bad and the Beautiful is about a movie producer who does whatever he can to further his career, including using and manipulating a director, an actress, and a writer. He does awful things to all three of them, but you can't really feel too bad for them since while he was screwing them over, he was also furthering their careers and making them famous. One of the main reasons I wanted to watch this was because this is the movie that Gloria Grahame won her Oscar for (and I love her!), but I ended up being a little disappointed because she is barely in the movie. Her small role as the writer's wife who ends up dying in a plane crash is cute, but she barely got to do anything.
